Over 100 delegates attended the ‘Celebrating Success’ event and listened to case studies showcasing enterprise, innovation and investment within the region. The Aberdeen City and Shire region recently hosted a networking event for their Account Managed companies, aimed at showcasing success in the region. Over 100 delegates attended the evening event - ‘Celebrating Success’ - held at Norwood Hall Hotel on Thursday 26 November. Delegates were welcomed with a pre-dinner drinks reception which afforded them the opportunity to network with other Account Managed, high-growth, businesses. Margaret McGinlay, Regional Director for Aberdeen City & Shire, began proceedings with an overall introduction. This was then followed by a three course dinner, hosted by STV presenter, Cheryl Paul. During the dinner, delegates were kept entertained by three Case Studies presented by three of the region’s Account Managed businesses:
In addition to the three case studies, delegates received an update on Aberdeen City and Shire Economic Future (ACSEF) from Stewart Spence, a member of the ACSEF Board. Stewart’s speech also included an update in relation to two key projects within the region – that of Energetica and Union Terrace Gardens The event afforded huge opportunities for networking in addition to the group being entertained by a motivational and inspiring speech from after dinner speaker, Penny Mallory. Penny, a director for several retail and media companies and business incubator organisations had earlier success as one of the world's top rally drivers and female presenter on Channel Four's, long running television series, 'Driven'. The event concluded with an Open Forum with the opportunity to ask questions of the case study speakers, after dinner speaker and SE representatives, including Jim McFarlane, Managing Director - Operations. A lively and informative debate ensued. Sara Budge, Director of Company Growth, undertook a vote of thanks and invited guests to mingle with other delegates and use the opportunity to meet with other Account Managers and the businesses they represent. Overall, it was a highly enjoyable and productive evening for delegates which definitely showcased success within the Aberdeen region. |
