Simon is one of the founding members of Dynamic Equipment Company who has over 20 years of experience in engineering.

After securing a degree in Naval Architecture at the Newcastle Upon Tyne University, Simon joined the British Shipbuilders at Blackwall Yard in East London. With five years of experience under his belt, the up-and-coming youngster was head-hunted by Sparrows Offshore in Aberdeen. During his three years, he was responsible for the set up of the hydraulics division, which included building the largest hydraulic test rig in Aberdeen at that time.

Simon then joined Micron Eagle Hydraulics in the role of Technical Director where he was in the position for 10 years. It was here that Simon first met fellow DEC Director Richard Hay.

The duo were both looking for a career change so they met at Starbucks in Union Street, which began the brewing concept of Dynamic Equipment Company. Not long after their first meeting, the pair set up business in Richard’s back bedroom in 2000.

Simon’s strengths within the business are his sense of humour, experience and knowledge, as well as his willingness to learn and develop. His role at DEC is to prepare the quotes for tenders with the aim of converting them to orders.

Simon’s skills extend way beyond the engineering world. He is also a great addition to any party as he is a talented musician and also holds a Pyrotechnic Certificate.
